» What should i charge for home care assistant?
I will be driving to a patients home thats takes about 40 minutes to get to. I will fix this 76 year old man dinner, and reminding him to take meds etc. everyday. He mentioned last night he fell out and woke up on the floor worried about things, he owns a local convience store and thats his lively hood and wanted a care taker. he is also retired military. The price of gas here is around 1.92 a gallon. Care givers around here SC normally get paid about 10.00 dollars an hour. if you go through a company they will charge about 18.00 dollars an hour. I know, i work for one now, but i work in the office mostly. Im thinking this is about a 3hours job a day. How much should i charge him for these evening services?Well, around where i live in WI ........ - 2010-03-19

» How long does it take for Valtrex to start working for you? ?
Generally for me it's 3-4 days, but this time it is not kicking in and my outbreak is becoming increasingly more painful. I was just curious as to how long it takes for anyone out there that is taking it to kick in and start clearing up down there.I suggest calling your doctor's office and speaking with his/her nurse. You may need to try something different. Regardless, your doctor needs to be aware, especially with increasing pain. That stuff doesnt work. It makes your outbreaks worse over time, the best treatment is to not put anything on it. The more valtrex you take, the more resistant the virus will become to it, over time, valtrex will no longer work, you;ll have to take more and your outbreaks will gradually get worse....... - 2010-03-19
» Which is the best company for car audio? I'm talking about quality durability and cost effectivity!?
JL Audio makes really good speakers, amps, and subs. you also pay alot for the brand name.I believe JL Audio is the best when it comes to quality and durability by far. However it is not cost effective. You can get it for more of a decent price online if you shop around. You will get raped if you buy it in house tho. I've owned Boston Acoustic, Clarion, Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine, Eclipse, Kicker, Rockford Fosgate and MTX as well. None of those come close for quality and durability. The only JL product to ever fail me was a tweeter to a component set, and that was because they were over powered. It depends what kind of sound you want to achieve, loud as hell or clean as hell. I would have to say Fi Car Audio makes some of the best subs ...... - 2010-03-19

No debate about whether it's a camera illusion on this one: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=b83_1186800771 The sparks are interesting -- is that superheated wood? Don't see anything metal around.I guess the question is if there is anything metal on that fence just below the branches of the tree?Man that looks like ALL tree to me. Could be the superheated moisture in the tree exploding and parts of the tree.Isn't it the superheating of the moisture and the sap in the tree that causes the bark of the tree to literally be blown off sometimes? That's my understanding of it.It would have been interesting to see the tree afterwards.its hard to tell if it missed the tree altogether and just hit the fence, but like david said... looks like all...... - 2010-03-19
» n00b - Accordion like question
Sorry... originally posted this in Kool Sites for absolutely no reason whatsoever. First let me say, hello. This is my first post. I am a Flash Hobbiest, who has built a few sites for friends, but who still has a lot to learn. Here is a site I built for my buddy. www.mattguntherphotography.com (http://www.mattguntherphotography.com/) There is a particular effect that I am certain is quite easy to create and yet I don't even know what to call it. The most basic example would be something like this: Four Boxes lined up horizontally on the stage. When the cursor is over the box it resizes to become bigger and the others make room accordingly. How do I create this? thanks thanksWhy on earth did you post this under Kool Sites? We have...... - 2010-03-19
» Pentax *ist?
I don't currently own an AF SLR. I shoot all of my 35mm with an ME Super, and am looking to pick up something autofocus. If I were just starting out, I would go Nikon, but I already have a very nice set of k-mount lenses, and so I was hoping to go Pentax. The *ist looks like a pretty good camera, and the price is right as well. Does anyone have any experience with these? There are a few *istD users around here... Anyone? I'm contemplating the same thing, since I have a bunch of Pentax AF lenses.I don't think the *ist 35mm is still in production so you should be able to cop one fairly inexpensively. I am training to become an early years specialist teacher and would really value your help in obtaining information for this research, as most of it is research based. High/Scope pre-school curriculum originated in America and was then adopted in Britain and other places. » Placing a chair back after eating?
I am under the impression that I should just leave the place without bothering to put back chairs. If you were eating with friends and found chairs then you'd pull them over and don't usually put them back - okay I understand this because you are in a group. The problem becomes noticible if you pull a chair over from a table for two (swapping sides to face the window because you want to eat facing the window) and you eat by yourself. Is it then normal to put back your chair on the opposite side after you ate? :>Returning chairs to their proper place after using them is very classy and highly recommended--even if you've been eating alone, as you mentioned (unless, of course, there's an available spot where you've ...... - 2010-03-19

A rough idea how much would the hosting cost and wad are the kinds of options i have. Thanks alot.It depends on a lot of things: 1) How many of them will be online at the same time -- this equates to CPU requirement and RAM requirement. 2) How many posts are your members going to post -- this equates to disk space requirement. 3) How images / media intensive your site is going to be -- this equates to disk space and bandwidth requirement. Anyone have one of these? Anyone want one of these? Could similar effects be made with filters? Everywhere I look I'm tempted by their ads. Online, in magazines. I think the lensbaby is different... you can change the size of the "sweetspot" threw aperture rings and move it around the frame...You can also play with the intensity of the blur...getting it just right takes abit of practice... Thanks...a humble Yggdrasil.I've been in the Army for 22 years and have known several Jewish members - some have worn the yarmulke (under their Army head gear) but most have not. » Alternative Energy - Wind Farms?
What are some of the key service conditions a wind turbine faces? Thanks xThe key service is to place them in places where there are lots of pressure cells. The Great Plains is the best place in America to place them because that's where they always have cold fronts from Canada and warm fronts from Mexico pass through. The pressure gradient causes the wind to blow. Also, the coasts are a good place to put them because of the ocean breezes. They need to have safety relays too to make sure that they stop when the wind is blowing too hard.Wind Turbines must have at least 6-8 MPH winds to produce power. It is almost impossible to find an area where the wind blows every day. Even in areas where the wind blows a lot, it tends to calm at n...... - 2010-03-19

Let's say you were at a restaurant, and you leave your purse at the table, and from afar you catch your friend start snooping in your cell phone in your purse. What would you do and say? You are friends, but not chummy personal friends to do such a thing. I like Bear's answer as I think that perhaps I would do the same. =PPersonally, I'd say something like "weird that you mistook both my phone AND my purse for yours- I didn't think I'd have to name my stuff just to have some privacy." and see what they respond with. If you keep it light and casual then you seem reasonable about it and don't cause a scene, however,...... - 2010-03-19
» lawsuit in bankruptcy
After going through extreme hardships (cancer, surgery, job loss), I filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy on Oct 14, 2005 (a no asset case). On Dec 28, 2005 a collection agency representing one of the credit card companies involved, filed a claim for money against me at the Superior Court. A meeting with the creditors was held on Jan 17, 2006 but the trustee didn't mention anything about the lawsuit. What are my options? Shall I leave it to default, since my case is at the Bankruptcy Court, or do I have to file an answer at the Superior Court? I would greatly appreciate some legal help. » Pleasure may come from illusion, but happiness can come only of reality! ?
quote on calender Do you agree with this? I agree with you, pleasure is only short, but happiness has to be real to last.Funny, I think this applies to a friend of mine perfectly! She gained so much pleasure from this 'boyfriend' she had. She met him online, but had never met him or talked to him on the phone before! They text message all the time, but have never met. They started when both were 16, and they're now 22. She kept telling herself all these fantasies of when they would be together, of how they'd end up married one day with kids etc. But it was all an illusion. I told her to wake up, and get a REAL bf. In reality, the 'bf' never did meet my friend, and actually ended up marrying another...... - 2010-03-19

I recently was taught a little about photography in my art class and found it fascinating, so I am going to use it for a school project. The camera we used in class was old but I loved it but unforunatley couldn't use it. So I got my own camera by way of parents. I got a Minolta with 110 zoom. First off I would like to get "critiques" about my camera choice as a beginner. Then, I would like to know how to get those special effects like, blurring, and focusing on one subject with the rest blurry, and what the law of thirds is. I saw a link for it but it didn't work. <--------That's my camera.ive never used a non slr but i dont think u can do those buddy. i think u need interchangeable lens. but this is comming from someone who ha...... - 2010-03-19

» NORTH KOREA: Facing a Famine
NORTH KOREA: Facing a Famine By Marwaan Macan-Markar BANGKOK, Apr 18 (IPS) - North Korea’s desperate need to feed its citizens has prompted a United Nations agency to warn of a ‘’humanitarian crisis’’ looming up in the months ahead. The price of basic food items in Pyongyang, the country’s capital, offers a stark picture of the reality average workers face when buying provisions. A kg of rice currently sells at 2,000 North Korean won (14 US dollars), up from 700-900 won a year ago, while maize costs 600 won (4.20 dollars) per kg, up from 350 won for the same amount in April 2007, states the World Food Programme (WFP). Other staples, such as pork, potatoes and eggs have also risen manifold, making these items a ‘’luxury for most peop...... - 2010-03-19

In order to create a list in Excel one first row must be introduced in which the content of each column is described. Then you will introduce in the following rows each one of the data. These rows constitute the registries of the database or list. Ecxel can perform two main operations with this data: Sort and Edit. Other operations that can be made are to make a filter to obtain a new sublist just by the students who fulfill conditions or for fi...... - 2010-03-19

So an example file would look like "2005-11-07-cougars.php" Now, what we're trying to do is search for articles written in a specific month by a specific author, which is not in the meta tags, and is instead just in the body of the page itself. How would we combine two specific search terms? I've tried a few different combinations of quoted dates, names, and wild cards with no luck as of yet.

» Starting up a board.
Hi there, i would like to find out how much would i need to spend on hosting if i were to start up with a small board now? Say if i have a thousand members only. Remember, when starting a forum, it may not fly as quickly as we all want. So you may not need a whole lot of resources to start off. Typicall...... - 2010-03-19

Anyone have one of these? Anyone want one of these? Could similar effects be made with filters? Everywhere I look I'm tempted by their ads. Online, in magazines. I've been through the galleries of each one and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!! I've seen filters with the soft effect but I've noticed the effect is through the frame where as lensbabies are in focus in the middle and slowly fade outward.I know the filters you talk of... I think the lensbaby is different... you can change the size of the "sweetspot" threw aperture rings and move it around the frame...You can also play with the intensity of the blur...getting it just right takes abit of practice... Again, this is not a troll post. I am really interested in the answer. Thanks...a humble Yggdrasil.I've been in the Army for 22 years and have known several Jewish members - some have worn the yarmulke (under their Army head gear) but most have not. I have never seen the camouflaged version before so it may be a custom order item.Sikhs in the US army wear their turbans so i don't think the government would have a problem with that.

» My family acts like they hate me?
This question is more about my external family. I'm 13. My dads side of the family is huge. there's a lot of us. I don't see much of my moms family because they all live in England or in a different state. So my dads family throws parties a lot. For Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other hoildays im invited of course. But on birthdays, like two of my cousins (both sisters), im not invited. Im left out. And then when the family meets for other parties my other cousin tell how much fun they had. I know they dont mean it because there younger than me (im the olderest. We have our own little group, were the 'Little Ones'). And it all started on my 10th birthday. I was having a sleepover at my house but the whole ...... - 2010-03-19

» origin of japanese martial arts
i was just wondering about the origins of the martial arts system (kenjustsu, kyudo, karate, etc.) in japan. the story that i heard is that the martial arts developed in china (shaolin system) came over to japan with buddhism. this system of marital arts just evolved and adapted to the existing culture to give us the weapons and systems we have today. however, i am not sure that this is true because there are many many differences in the martial arts of japan and china, the weapons are almost totally different and are weilded in very different way (chinese spear and japanese spear). i was wondering if anyone could give me some information about this, it would be greatly appreciated.i was just wondering about the origins of the martial arts ...... - 2010-03-19

I want to make a page/movie on my flash site that has an updateable news section. I'm new to scripting and want to know what is best. i've found loads of tutorials using different server side technology but don't know what to use. I think that PHP, MY SQL and XML will be most useful in the long term. I've looked at the sticky on the server side forum but some aren't very well written and don't want to waste my time. If anyone can help me out with a tutorial they have found helpful it would be appreciated.:ne:...... - 2010-03-19
» Best Daytime bar/pub in NYC
Looking for a great place to hang out and drink in NYC from about noon till 4pm... any places that will have a crowd or good atmosphere.... not ESPN ZONE or the like... something that says NEW YORK in the early afternoon...Surely, there are countless great bars meeting your criteria. But I gotta say, the first one that came to mind when reading your question is a bar called d.b.a. at 41 1st Avenue in NYC.You can't beat McSorley's http://www.mcsorleysnewyork.com/home.html Their slogan is "we were here before you were born," but that's sort of an understatement, since they've been there since 1854....... - 2010-03-19
» Working on my PP
I was looking through my pictures and thought I would take on some PP. What do you think of this one: ORIGINAL http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3003/2833523941_73a7b0458b_b.jpg EDITED VERSION http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3046/2833150549_4eafc25ecc_b.jpg Thanks for your comments.I think it looks much better - maybe a little too saturated though? A quick little thing I like to do which works well for most landscape shots is to copy the layer, desaturate, invert, add a gausian blur of 100px, and set the layer mode to soft light. I wonder if you tried this it may enhance it in a different way? :)I was looking through my pictures and thought I would take on some PP. What do you think of this one: Petty good. It definitely look...... - 2010-03-19
» Relationship and expression in Microsoft Access
I want to setup a database by using Microsoft Access. But I do not really understand the Relationship and Expression. I want to know how the tables relate each other, and use the expression to query multi-table.Hello kevinchiem!! I must start talking a little about MS Excel s lists or databases.
» Wrong Info is displayed
I've just gone through the user guide once again - I can't figure out why the after i have just indexed my site, the search results pick up pages that were deleted a week ago, yet do not pick up pages with meta keywords and decriptions, resulting in zero matches. Is there a general reason that would cause this to happen?Maybe it you are using an old set of index files? It is hard to see how Zoom could download and index a document that doesn't exist. Except maybe if you are using caching and it is packing up the old cached copy. Zoom shares it cache with IE. ------ DavidI have uploaded the index each time I indexed the files yesterday - about a couple of dozen times. It all started when reviewing the search log - and finding th...... - 2010-03-19

» Advanced Searching
Hello, I have a website for a local newspaper where I'm trying to search for multiple things at once. For example: The file names all start with a date: YYYY-MM-DD, and than a filename. Thank you for the help. -NickI assume you are indexing file names (from the Zoom configuration window). You could try searching for YYYY-MM* ...... - 2010-03-19
