However, I would consider a strong racial (better to say Pan-Pashtooism) motivation when confronting other ethnicities of Afghanistan or even neighboring countries such as Iran and Pakistan. During the 1990â ™s and the power struggle in Afghanistan, they have massacred thousands of Tajiks, Hezare, and Uzbks. Even they occupied Iranian embassy in Mazar-sharif and beheaded Iranian diplomats.
And why they are racist toward Tajicks and Iranians but not toward Arab is my question too. I know that not all Pashtoons hate Iranians, Tajicks or Pakis (Urdo speakers). I have a Pashtoo friend which really appreciates Iranian and says there are many other Pashtoos who love Iran. Actually she has lived in Iran for a while and now is looking forward to going back again (she believes Iranian are the kindest and warmest people in the world!). Anyway, I just meant to say that not all Pashtoos are racists or extremists.

My personal opining is that although during the golden Islamic ages, countries such as Iran were the centre of a novel, tolerant, and dynamic society (more tolerant than now a days), unfortunately Mongolian attack ruined every bit of that civilization. I can say Islamic civilization went to a coma after Mongolian attack and still hasnâ ™t come back. To make it short, during that time and after that western civilization grow up so fast while Islamic civilization was destroyed. And then, in 18,19 and 20th centuries Muslim faced countries who colonized them (in Algeria and Egypt), involved in their internal affairs (in Iran), or invaded them (in Iraq and Palestine). This had a major rule in creating motivations for early Islamic fundementalists such as Sey Jamalodin -e-AsadAbadi. Which later on became the father of other fundamentalist groups such as Muslem Broderhood in Egypt and Fadaiaan-e-Eslam in Iran. And so onâ ¦
